Resume Makers

It should not be rocket science, but considering how by-the-book and to-the-letter Canadian employers really are, you would need a resume that makes you look good on paper. Give these resume makers a try!

Training and Tutorials

Exaggerate on your resume but cover your behind! Help menu of a software isn't always a solution if you have no clue what the concept of a task really is. That requires a little training and tutorial and understanding of the basics. Web and the Internet aren't always available. Keep some of these training CDs hidden in your bag - always - just in case you are given something that requires instant learning!

Learn French

Can't really ignore the 800 pound gorilla in the room, can we? Given the fact that you're an immigrant, even if it sounds impossible -- and it is almost impossible -- to master a language as complex as French well enough to be able to properly communicate within a short period of time, do at least give it a try. You never know your strength could be learning faster than anyone else.

Create a website

Instead of wasting time on the internet, how about creating a website of your own? A website gives you new skills to try, and if it's a blog (like yours truly's) you can share and vent and rant and rave too!
